RTC’s Learning Resource Centre (LRC) supports students at all stages of their degree program
through individual and group sessions focused on writing and academic skills.
Whether for an individual assignment, or a general request, we are available to help students
with:
● brainstorming ideas
● revision and development
● APA formatting
● presentation skills
● writing, grammar and the writing process
● research skills
● Understanding their assignments
● Note taking skills
● Exam preparation strategies
While we are not able to edit or “fix” student writing (that would be contrary to the college’s
Academic Honesty Code of Conduct) we can help students become more conscious and
proactive about particular error patterns that emerge in their written work. The LRC is a safe and
supportive space where students can make mistakes, learn and do better.
The Learning Resource Centres services are available through:
● Individual consultation appointments – as walk -ins and through emails, and
● A monthly schedule of group sessions on various topics
