	Dissertations & Theses (ETDs) EBSCO Open Dissertations - a free database of more than 1.4 million electronic theses and dissertations from more than 320 universities around the world EThOS – British Library’s e-theses online database of over 600,000 doctoral theses. Global ETD Search – index of over 6 million ETDs from more than 200 universities on all continents. (not all open access) ProQuest Open Access : open access ejournals, dissertations and theses (formerly PQDT Dissertations and Theses) RIM Digital Repository – Downloadable dissertations (111) by RIM students. Searchable by broad subject.
	DOAB (Directory of Open Access Books) DOAB is a community-driven discovery service that indexes and provides access to scholarly, peer-reviewed open access books and helps users to find trusted open access book publishers. All DOAB services are free of charge and all data is freely available.
	DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) Index of peer-reviewed, open access scholarly research journals.
	Encyclopedias Encyclopedia.com – “Search over 200 individual encyclopedias and reference books from the worlds most trusted publishers.” Encyclopedia Britannica – Free version
	ERIC Bibliographic and full-text database of education research and information from the Institute of Education Sciences.
	JSTOR (Open Access Content Only) Open access journals, books, research reports, and images primarily in the humanities and social sciences. Create a personal account to access a monthly quota of articles from the subscription database.
	MedlinePlus Authoritative health information from the U.S. National Library of Medicine covering general topics, drugs, genetics, medical tests, medical encyclopedia and research updates from the National Institute of Health.
	Open Education Resources & Textbooks Free, adaptable, openly licensed textbooks and supplemental resources from (primarily) North American universities and colleges. Additional sources include: OER Commons Searchable Hub Open Textbook Library 1120 open textbooks from university publishing houses BCCampus Open Collection open textbooks and supplemental learning resources facilitated by the Government of British Columbia (Canada)
	Oxford Academic Journals Access to over 350 optional open access hybrid journals and over 100 fully open access journals. (Choose Advanced Search, click on ‘open access content’ filter.) Oxford University Press open journals eBooks, including handbooks and reference books, are also available through Research4Life.
	Project Muse Project MUSE offers open access (OA) books, journals, and digital humanities works from several distinguished university presses, scholarly societies, and independent not-for-profit academic publishers.
	Research4Life Research4Life (R4L) provides access to academic and professional peer-reviewed ejournals and ebooks. The collection is composed of 4 databases: HINARI, AGORA, OARE and ARDI with comprehensive coverage across multiple disciplines, including food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences, biomedical and health sciences, technology and business. (Also includes reference works from publishing houses such as Sage, Oxford Publishing and Emerald Insight – see separate entries).
	SAGE Knowledge (eBooks) Access through R4L to select content from Sage Books and Sage Reference including encylopedias and handbooks in the social and behavioral sciences, research monographs, and professional development titles. 	ScienceDirect Access through R4L to peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, including open access content, from Elsevier in the fields of physical sciences and engineering, life sciences, health sciences and social sciences and humanities. 	Scopus Abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, accessed thrugh R4L, including scientific journals, books, and conference proceedings. Includes research in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Will link content to open access and publisher sites.
