FEES DUE NOTICE FOR FALL SEMESTER-2026

This is to remind all the students that the fees for Fall Semester 2026 are due and payable with effect from:

All Other Programmes ( 3rd to 10th August 2026)
CE Students ( 3rd to 10th August 2026)
BSc. Nursing Programme Sem – I, III & VII ( 3rd to 10th August 2026)
BSc. Nursing Programme Sem - V ( 27th July to 3rd August 2026)

All fees should be deposited through the secure online payment gateway - https://pay.rtc.bt/ which will generate your payment receipt instantly and have it emailed to you. Please be reminded that College does not accept cash/cheque payments.

The payment modes/options and Fee Charts for the respective Semesters’ are given below.
Please ensure timely payments to avoid penalties for delayed payments. The penalties in case of default will be charged as outlined in the fee chart.

What is a Citation?

“A citation is the way you tell your readers that certain material in your work came from another source and gives your readers the information necessary to find that source again.”

When do I need to cite?

Whenever you borrow words or ideas from another source, you need to acknowledge that source. The following situations almost always require a citation:

Whenever you use quotes
Whenever you paraphrase
Whenever you use an idea that someone else has already expressed
Whenever you make specific reference to the work of another
Whenever someone else's work has been critical in developing your own ideas (David, n.d.)

Why?

By giving others proper credit for their ideas, you avoid something called ‘plagiarism’:

“Plagiarism, the presentation of another’s ideas, writing, or other work as one’s own, is a serious kind of cheating. Thus, students unsure of how borrowing from another’s work should be properly acknowledged have the responsibility to consult with relevant faculty regarding acknowledgement procedures appropriate to their discipline.” (Royal Thimphu College, n.d.)

CITATION TOOLS

Online Citation Generators are great when you just need a few citations, or are working on shorter papers and assignments. Just copy and paste the URL for an online resource, ISBN for a book, or DOI for a journal article into the generator (don’t forget to choose APA!).

ZoteroBib : Generates citations and builds a bibliography in most styles, without creating an account or installing any software

MyBib : A free bibliography and citation generator that makes accurate citations for you to copy straight into your academic assignments and papers.

Citation Manager Software is used primarily for more extensive research projects and helps you to collect, organize and format all of your citations. Citation Managers generally need to be downloaded to your computer, or you need to create an account if using online software. Some good free programs are (note – the links will take you to Penn State University’s software user guides and download links):

Zotero Quick Start Guide : a free stand-alone program that allows for easy capturing of citation information from web pages.

Additional options for students to access rtcCloud online resources

rtcCloud is the official repository for sharing files in an organized storage manner among our community. The cloud.rtc.bt server is hosted on our campus. Within Bhutan there should be no bandwidth issues on the college end for accessing it, though user-end internet quality can fluctuate. Also, the server performance itself can fluctuate based on load (though at the moment no major issues are detected). To provide additional points of access, the rtcCloud directories will now be mirrored at two global cloud storage points: Google Shared Drive and Microsoft OneDrive/Sharepoint. These are one-way read-only synchronizations of the data on the on-campus rtcCloud server, updated several times a day through re-synchronization to incorporate newly added files. All students will have access to rtcCloud (PUBLIC) folders. Students will be able to view and download files through either the Google Share Drive or Microsoft OneDrive; these repositories are view-only. Students may benefit from some online tools like Web versions of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint through Office365.

How to access:

rtcCloud: visit https://cloud.rtc.bt/ (also linked from https://my.rtc.bt/) and use as usual.

Google Shared Drive: visit https://drive.google.com/ as usual and be sure you are logged in with your @rtc.bt credentials. Click on Shared Drives.

Look for this:

This has all folders from rtcCloud accessible to all RTC community members with log-in (students and staff) -- Academics, Library, etc. Google Drive is cached within Bhutan and around the world -- sometimes it might be faster to view/download a file from Google Drive than from cloud.rtc.bt, especially outside Bhutan. Within Bhutan and especially on campus, cloud.rtc.bt would still be the fastest option. However, Google Drive is also a backup option in case cloud.rtc.bt is not working adequately.

Microsoft OneDrive / Sharepoint: visit https://office.com and log in with your @rtc.bt credentials to access our basic Office365 educational license. If it asks you to specify, choose Work or school account:

Students have access to these online webapps (usable in-browser).

Many of these tools are potentially useful for your learning needs. For example, you have at least this much access to basic Office tools like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (online) that may be of help to you, for example for viewing some of your voice-over PPTs (more below).

To access the rtcCloud mirror on OneDrive / Sharepoint, first visit this link https://rtcbt.sharepoint.com/sites/rtcCloud_PUBLIC and click the star near the top right to 'Follow':

From now on, you can access this through the OneDrive app (can be found on the above app launcher at https://office.com or directly at https://onedrive.com. This will appear under 'Shared libraries', and you can click on the folders to get at the files that would normally be at rtcCloud:

Microsoft OneDrive is cached around the world but its performance is not as strong as Google Drive within Bhutan. Within Bhutan and especially on campus, https://cloud.rtc.bt would still be the fastest option. However, OneDrive is also a backup option in case cloud.rtc.bt is not working adequately. Moreover, OneDrive presents useful tools particularly for files created by the Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Since some students may not have compatible software, these web-based apps can do the trick of opening files from the OneDrive cloud mirror in the user's browser, for example to play voice-over powerpoints even without the desktop version of the Powerpoint software and using older operating systems (like Windows 7).

For those with Windows 10 but no full version of Office for their computer still wishing to view files on their own computer offline (not in the browser), Powerpoint Mobile is a free tool for this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/powerpoint-mobile/9wzdncrfjb5q

EXAMPLE -- Open Office documents directly to view them in the Office365 Online apps, even play voice-over powerpoints:

Mirroring from rtcCloud on-campus (cloud.rtc.bt) to Google Shared Drive and Microsoft OneDrive:

The frequency of the one-way sync / mirroring will be several times a day, approximately one-two hours.

BOTTOM LINE: If you are having any trouble accessing your academic materials from cloud.rtc.bt, try it from the Google Shared Drive or the Microsoft OneDrive as indicated above. Use the Microsoft Office365 online tools for viewing files online, for example PowerPoint voice-over lectures.

RTC Football field booking for RTC Students/Employees

Booking/confirmation of the RTC football field should be routed through Student Services Department (SSD). The booking form is available at the SSD or click to download here
Except for prime slots 3PM-5PM* and 4PM-6PM* during which preference shall be given to outsiders, students can book the football field as per timing provided in the above slots without any charges. Both the teams should be from RTC students / employees only.
Students may continue using the football field if there are no bookings made or in case they would like to play on an ad hoc basis by confirming with Mr.Tashi Wangdi at 17743924.
Students will not be allowed to invite outsiders as opponents.
Employee slot shall be identified as E16 on Tuesdays. However, if there are booking from outsiders, these will be shifted to another slot as appropriate. Both the teams should be from RTC employees.
In the interim, for football field match with outsiders with one team from RTC employees (need 11 RTC employees in the team), the above promotional charges shall be discounted further by 10% during weekdays and 20% during weekend slots. The discount % shall be reviewed periodically.
Fixed bookings or blanket reservations will NOT BE ENTERTAINED.
To confirm the booking, 100% payment of the charges will need to be made immediately. Allocation of the slots shall be done on the basis of ‘First-Pay-First-Served’ basis. No Show No Refunds.

Students who fail to show after confirmation of booking will be penalized by having their right to book the field revoked for 3 weeks. In case there are no bookings made or for those who don’t show up after booking, students may continue using the field with prior information to Mr. Tashi Wangdi, SSD.The football field shall be available for use only on a pre-booking basis and have the right to use the field at designated hours.

Do not feed dogs on campus

PLEASE DON’T FEED DOGS ON CAMPUS

In view of the increasing dog population on campus, all students, faculty & staff are requested NOT TO FEED dogs on campus. Also, please DON’T ENTERTAIN or PATRONIZE them at any facility – Apartments, Academic spaces, Canteens, Dining Hall, Residence Halls, etc.

Please beware that these dogs are increasingly becoming menacing and could be dangerous.

Therefore, in the interest of your safety as well as the wellbeing of others, please refrain from feeding or patronizing the dogs on campus.
