RTC LIBRARY COLLECTION

1. Search the Koha library catalogue  for books, textbooks, government and non-governmental publications.

Searching tips: for a general search, use broad keywords such as ‘'mass media', ‘'media studies’, ‘communications’, 'communication' etc. Once you find a relevant book, click on the ‘subject’ links in the book record to find similar, related or more narrowly focused books. To find a specific book, author or subject, click on ‘Advanced search’

OPEN TEXTBOOKS

Online and downloadable textbooks available freely from (primarily) North American universities and colleges.  As mass communications cross over into a number of general subject areas, it is easiest to search using broad terms such as: 'media', ‘mass media’, ‘media studies’, ‘communication’etc. and then filter by subject.

Some textbooks you will find include:

  • Understanding Media and Culture: An Introduction to Mass Communication (2016)
  • Media Studies 101 (2013)
  • Principles of Marketing (2022)
  • The International Journalism Handbook (2022)
