Search the Koha library catalogue for books, textbooks, government and non-governmental publications.
Searching tips: for a general search, use broad keywords such as: environmental management , water management, or refine to a subject search for ecology, ecological, natural resources etc. Once you find a relevant book, click on the ‘subject’ links in the book record to find similar, related or more narrowly focused books. To find a specific book, author or subject, click on ‘Advanced search’

National Environment Commission Publications - full-text access to all National Environment Commission publications, including legislation, policies, plans, standards, guidelines and papers on topics such as climate change, water etc.
Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (Department of Forests and Park Services, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests) - full-text access to the Institute's research articles and reports.
National Research and Development Centre for Riverine & Lake Fisheries - "The NCR&LF was established with the mission to achieve sustainable use of Bhutan’s fishery resources and to ensure good water quality and habitat for fish communities to supplement the national goal of achieving food self sufficiency and self reliance including preservation/conservation of environment in the pursuit of Gross National Happiness for the people of Bhutan."

National Soil Service Centre - "The aim of the Centre is to co-ordinate soil/land management research activities of the RNR sector." Website provides access to publications and under the 'Downloads' tab to: 5-Year Plan, brochures, guidelines, strategy papers, manuals, and standards.
Bhutan Ecological Society - Non-profit organization that "connects science, business, and policy with the goal of building and sustaining resilient communities and functional landscapes" Program areas include: landscapes, agricultures, forests, buildings, energy, climate, renewable energy, water, as well as education, advocacy & research.
Royal Society for Protection of Nature - "Eco-based solucations for managing biodiversity landscapes in Bhutan". Websites provides online access to publications, reports and the organizations newsletter.
Bhutan For Life - initiative of the Government of Bhutan and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to fund the preservation of Bhutan's parklands. Website includes access to resources on environmental & social safeguards, gender action plan etc. Also includes a variety of accessible videos.
Bhutan Biodiversity Portal – is an official repository of information on Bhutan’s biodiversity, built through the collective effort of data generators and users. Includes 2,700+ species pages, 45,000+ observations, maps, anddocuments.
ICIMOD - The Himalayan Document Centre provides direct access to selected full-text and multimedia files in electronic format. Available resources to download include books, articles, periodicals, and theses.
IUCN Red List of Threatened Species - catalogues and highlights those plants and animals that are facing the risk of global extinction.
UN Documentation Subject Guide - Environment - documentation research guide from the UN Library containing information and links for all UN environmental work, including major conferences and reports, treaties and recommended resources.
UNStats -Environment Statistics - Country Snapshots - provide a selection of national environment statistics, complemented by key economic and social indicators.
Open Textbooks
Online and downloadable textbooks available freely from (primarily) North American universities and colleges. Start with a general search for ‘environmental management’, browse the results and narrow by subject if necessary.

Databases, Journals & eBooks

Environmental Science Collection (ProQuest) is comprised of 2 databases: Environmental Science Database and Environmental Science Index. The multi-disciplinary collection provides specialist topic resources from disciplines such as engineering, biotechnology, bacteriology, atmospheric science, ecology and biology and features a diverse range of full-text sources including scientific journals, trade journals, new sources, conference proceedings, reports, monographs, books and government publications. Coverage from 1960 to present.
Environmental Index (EBSCO) is a bibliographic database for environmental studies and related disciplines, including energy, environmental studies, and environmental law. Coverage includes areas of agriculture such as; ecosystem ecology, energy, renewable energy sources, natural resources and many more.
