1. Search the Koha library catalogue  for books, textbooks, government and non-governmental publications.

Searching tips: for a general search, use broad keywords such as Development economicseconomic history , povery and development , international economics, labor and development, economics statistics. Once you find a relevant book, click on the ‘subject’ links in the book record to find similar, related or more narrowly focused books. To find a specific book, author or subject, click on ‘Advanced search’.

Online and downloadable economics textbooks available freely from (primarily) North American universities and colleges.  Filter by subject area 'Social Sciences - Economics', or search using broad terms such as: ‘microeconomics’, ‘macroeconomics’, 'economics history', 'labor' etc.

Asian Development Bank - Bhutan Information

HimalDoc - ICIMOD’s central document repository and online digital library, HimalDoc is a one-stop portal for publications, journal articles, reports, theses and other information resources related to the Hindu Kush Himalaya.

ILOSTAT (International Labour Organization) - database on labour statistics operated by the ILO Bureau of Statistics, provides data and metadata for over 200 countries or territories.

International Monetary Fund  - the IMF is an organization of over 180 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.

UNCTAD Stats – provides a wide range of collected data from national and international sources to facilitate analyses of current and emerging issues. Country profiles include statistics comparable across countries. World

Institute for Development Economics Research (WIDER) Papers Papers date back to the beginning of WIDER's operations in 1985 (including the special issues of economic journals and commercially published academic books).

World Development Indicators (World Bank) - compilation of cross-country comparable data on development

Open Knowledge Repository (OKR) - The World Bank is the largest single source of development knowledge. OKR is The World Bank’s official open access repository for its research outputs and knowledge products. The site includes online books, reports, working papers, journals articles, and more. Good source for all countries.

World Bank Open Data - free and open access to data about development in countries around the globe. Search data by country, topic, indicators, and more.

Social Science Research Network - the SSRN eLibrary contains over 504,500 downloadable full text documents in PDF format. Search by keyword or browse the JEL Topic List. (JEL is a standard method for classifying scholarly literature in the field of economics.) 

Economics Education Resource Guide -  Includes links to more than 40 resources, including introductory resources, study resources, news resources, and resources on economics analysis and theory.

Economy Watch – Find articles on economics, markets, investing, personal finance, and industries. Provides data on country economic statistics and indicators.

Ideas - A bibliographic database dedicated to economics. Some full text is available. If the article you want is not available online, bring your citation to the Library and we may be able to get the article for you.
